Fun Facts

Fun facts about our Bees

  • Busy as a Bee: A single bee can visit up to 5,000 flowers in one day! Bees are tireless workers, collecting nectar and pollen to support their hive.

  • Bee Lifespan: Worker bees typically live around 6 weeks in the summer, while the queen can live up to 5 years. Her main job is laying eggs—up to 2,000 per day!

  • Bee Communication: Honey bees "dance" to communicate! They perform a waggle dance to tell other bees the direction and distance of flowers from the hive.

  • Pollination Power: Bees are essential for pollinating more than two-thirds of the world’s crops, including many fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Without bees, many of the foods we enjoy wouldn’t exist!

  • Honey Never Spoils: Archaeologists have discovered honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that’s over 3,000 years old and still perfectly edible. Honey's natural preservatives make it one of the only foods that doesn't spoil.

Fun facts about our Herbs and Spices

  • Mint: Did you know mint is a natural insect repellent? Its strong scent keeps pests like ants and mosquitoes away while adding a refreshing flavor to foods and beverages.

  • Cinnamon: Derived from the inner bark of trees, cinnamon has been used since ancient times for both its medicinal properties and its ability to preserve food.

  • Basil: A sacred herb in many cultures, basil contains powerful antioxidants and has antibacterial properties. It’s often used in traditional remedies to boost immunity and digestion.

  • Turmeric: Known as the “Golden Spice,” turmeric is praised for its anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a key ingredient in curries and has been used in Ayurveda for thousands of years.

  • Lavender: More than just a fragrant flower, lavender is used in teas, oils, and soaps for its calming effects. It’s known to help reduce stress and improve sleep.
